Rejoyce, for this is a 328i with the M sport kit and a red interior, and not a single scratch!

Kinja'd!!!

As a Puebla car as the plates suggests, this 3er lived in the comfort of good streets and highway driving, it’s body is dingless, but the tags suggest this car is 2 years or older, as so does the fact that it’s a pre LCI. The owner wasn’t ready to talk numbers with me, but he said around 300,000 pesos and to give him a call instead of stalking his car on a bicycle.

Kinja'd!!!

The price, of around 15,000 dollars is about market for a car like this, a similarly equipped, new 330i would probably set you back around 850,000.

However, it’s pointless to me because I live in the socialist clutches of Mexico City; a communist dystopia where cars need to be checked for emissions before being driven! Which means that this car has an expiration date written on it: 7 years after being sold it won’t be daily drivable because of HoyNoCircula, something Esteve could care less about in Nuevo Leon.

Kinja'd!!!

But maybe it’s pointless for my fellow Latinx oppos, as BM2 is in America, land of no imports, and Esteve has a very pretty E9x already.

I can’t decide if I like the F30 or not.

I just read up on that law and wow is it ridiculously complicated. Seems like it was more intended to benefit car dealers than anyone else.

It has been struck down various times for being discriminatory to the poor, because after 7 years your car cannot certify a “0” tag, no matter if its a Ford excursion or a Civic

I suspect it will be changed but its to be seen as they suspended smog checks in Mexico City until Q3 because they’re buying new equipment

You could import this since they sold it in the US and therefore meets the necessary regulations.

Mira, yo no soy muy fan de BMW, pero ese 328i esta impecable. Es impresionante porque en Puebla si manejas algo que no sea un VW o un Audi, los grupies de Vochomania van y te rayan el costado.

Are you sure about that? Considering how broad the rule is it wouldn’t surprise me if the speedometer in km/h disqualified it

Positive. There are no federal regulations for what unit of measurement a speedometer uses. There are dealerships where I live that exclusively sell Canadian spec cars which use km/h as well.

All the information regarding importing a car is available on the customs and border patrol website. The list of cars available for import without federalization is from 2008 because government. But it basically boils down to the car having a USDM counterpart that has met federal safety standards, and the engine meeting emissions standards for the given model year. Since the f30 328i was sold in the US both of those are met. It would be expensive and pointless to import one though since they sold it here though.
